1. Acceptance of terms
By completing your purchase and enrolling in a class, you agree to be bound by the applicable Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy. These terms apply to both the enrolling parent or guardian and the enrolled student.
2. Services
I provide online social studies courses for high school students, including subjects such as US and world history, civics, current events, and geopolitics. Courses are designed to encourage critical thinking, discussion, and engagement with historical and contemporary issues.
Academic Credit: Where noted, courses are structured to meet the Carnegie Unit definition for high school credit. Depending on the course length and instructional hours, classes may be eligible for half-credit or full-credit on a high school transcript. Families are responsible for confirming credit acceptance with their local school district or umbrella school, if applicable. At the end of each semester or yearlong course, students will be provided with a detailed summary of the class content, and a number grade based on the published rubric for the class.

Requests for academic accommodations or curricular modifications must be communicated in a timely manner. Early communication allows for appropriate planning and support when possible.
Parents and students are responsible for monitoring class communication platforms and responding in a timely manner. Requests for accommodations, clarification, or support are welcome and should be communicated respectfully and as early as possible.
6. Intellectual property
All course materials, lesson content, assignments, activities, and instructional resources used in these classes are either original curriculum developed by Darby Kennedy or curriculum that I am trained, licensed, or otherwise approved to use.
These materials are provided solely for the educational use of enrolled students and their families. Course content may not be copied, recorded, distributed, shared, or reused outside of the enrolled class, including sharing with non-enrolled individuals, tutoring groups, co-ops, or online platforms.
Unauthorized sharing, reproduction, or redistribution of course materials violates intellectual property rights and may result in removal from the course without refund.
If families have questions about appropriate use of course materials, they are encouraged to ask before sharing or repurposing any content.
7. Disclaimers and limits of liability
No Guarantees of Outcomes: While courses are designed to provide high-quality instruction, meaningful engagement, and opportunities for academic growth, no specific outcomes are guaranteed. Academic performance, grades, credit acceptance, and individual learning outcomes depend on many factors, including student effort, participation, and circumstances beyond the instructor’s control.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Darby Kennedy Teaches shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or related to enrollment in or participation in classes, including but not limited to academic outcomes, technology failures, scheduling changes, or missed instruction due to circumstances beyond reasonable control.
Total liability, if any, shall be limited to the amount paid for the applicable course.
Nothing in this section is intended to limit liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.
8. Termination: Access to classes, course materials, and communication platforms may be suspended or canceled under the following circumstances:
Non-Payment: Failure to make required payments in a timely manner may result in suspension of access until payment is resolved.
Violation of Policies: Access may be suspended or terminated if a student or family:
Academic Integrity or Content Misuse: Unauthorized recording, sharing, reproduction, or redistribution of course materials may result in immediate suspension or termination of access.
Technology or Security Concerns: Access may be limited if there is a reasonable concern about account security, unauthorized access, or misuse of login credentials.
Safety or Well-Being Concerns: Access may be suspended if behavior raises concerns about the safety or well-being of the student, other students, or the instructor.
Instructor Discretion: In rare cases, access may be suspended or terminated when continued participation is no longer in the best interest of the learning community.
Process and Communication: When possible, families will be notified of concerns and given an opportunity to address them before access is suspended or terminated. Immediate action may be taken when necessary to protect the learning environment.
Refunds, if any, will be handled according to the posted Refund Policy.
